These Fan-Made 'Mockingjay' Opening Credits Will Give You Chills
by Andy NeuenschwanderIt's still going to be a few months before you get to see the real opening credits for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1."
But these will do pretty well in the meantime to hold you over.
This fan-created video imagines the opening credits to the upcoming "Hunger Games" sequel in the style of James Bond movies, featuring silhouettes, symbols and a haunting soundtrack.
The video, created by design student Anne Winkler for a grad school project, sets images of the Mockingjay, the protest salute made famous by the first movie, and other symbols from the movies in silhouette while Lorde's haunting cover of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" plays in the background.
It's all pretty bleak and reminiscent of propaganda, which is only fitting considering the "Hunger Games" story. It's particularly spot-on for this third installment in the franchise, considering the fact that we'll be spending a lot of time in the stark, spartan District 13.
In fact, the video seems to fit the color scheme of the upcoming film quite well: The newest posters for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" came out today, and feature the major players in District 13 (minus Katniss) standing against a bare cement wall and wearing simple, grey clothes (yes, even Effie).
