These 7 New 'Harry Potter' Book Covers Are Totally Awesome
by Andy NeuenschwanderHarry Potter has been gone a long time. We know it's tough. These days, you have to take every little bit of new Potter news and treasure it.
So, how about some new book covers?
UK artist Johnny Duddle, whose name is pleasingly close to Dudley, re-imagined the covers for all seven Harry Potter books. Of course there's plenty of fan art out there that does the same, but these covers will actually be printed and slapped on a new printing of the book series from Bloomsbury Publishing.
We're absolutely enamored with the new covers, which maintain the whimsy of the original cover art, but manage to do with with clean, sharp lines and a slightly more comic book style. They also tend to include other characters more than the originals did, with Hagrid, Ron and Hermione making an appearance on the first one.
Particularly awesome are the covers for the sixth and seventh books, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," which feature two pivotal moments in each story. We've never seen Dumbledore look like such a badass.
So while it's not a new movie in the Potterverse (you'll have to wait for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" for that), this reveal is an excuse to read the books all over again. That's something, right?
