There's Going to Be a New 'Frozen' Film

When Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the composers of the "Frozen" mega-hit "Let It Go," accepted their Oscar, they dropped in a joke about doing "Frozen 2."

They won't be getting that wish just yet, but there will be a new "Frozen" film next year! It's just going to be much shorter than the first one.

Disney is planning a "Frozen" short film, the type that often premiere before full-length Disney feature films in theaters. The upcoming project is titled "Frozen Fever," and will feature the return of all your favorite "Frozen" characters.

Here's how Disney describes the plot of the short:

"In 'Frozen Fever,' it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk."

Sounds fun, right? It hasn't been announced yet whether or not this short will premiere before a full-length feature, but if it did, it would likely come before a live-action film like "Descendants" or "Cinderella" since Disney-Pixar's "Inside Out" already has an accompanying short in development at Pixar.

While you're waiting, you can also catch Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and other "Frozen" characters on the upcoming season of "Once Upon a Time" on ABC this Fall.
