Taylor Swift Fan Charges Stage, Gets Arrested
by EG
For some people, seeing Taylor Swift on stage right in front of them is too much of a temptation. When a 26-year-old fan couldn't restrain himself and jumped on stage Saturday, Swift's security guards did the restraining for him.
Swift was in the middle of singing her hit "Style" at Petco Park in San Diego when the incident happened. The male fan jumped on stage and was immediately held down by security guards and pulled off stage. TMZ reports that the fan, 26-year-old Christian Ewing, had snuck into the concert and was already being pursued by security before he made it onto the stage. In the fight on stage, one security guard suffered a broken rib.
Swift was well away from the melee and never appeared to be in any danger. In fact, she only glanced at the commotion and never stopped singing. Staying true to the tradition of her current tour, she brought two surprise guests on stage during the concert: Avril Lavigne and Jamaican singer OMI. These two, however, were invited and were not subject to arrest or a beating by security.
Ewing, though, is being charged with several crimes, including felony battery, misdemeanor battery and obstruction.
