Taylor Lautner's New Role: Getting Biblical with The Rock?

Since Taylor Lautner already starred in the adaptation of one of the biggest book series ever, it's going to be difficult for him to top that feat in his ongoing career. But there's still another book adaptation that he could star in, and it's an even bigger one than "Twilight."

"What?" you might ask. "Bigger than 'Twilight?' What book could possibly top Stephanie Meyer's best-selling works?" To which I would respond, "How about the Bible?"

Yes, Relativity is planning a movie adaptation of the story of David and Goliath, which was the story from the Bible I remember enjoying the most as a kid because it involved a dude killing a giant by using a slingshot. That's pretty awesome.

Relativity seems to think it's awesome, too, and it planning a slightly modernized, but still period, action flick based on the story.

Relativity is also planning on bringing both Taylor Lautner and Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock) on board to play David and Goliath, respectively. Of course, the two of them could carry a pretty hefty price tag, especially if Lautner's non-"Twilight" starrer "Abduction" does well in theaters.

The good news for "Twilight" fans is that I'm sure, what with the ancient setting and lots of action sequences, that the director will find a way to have Lautner shirtless for a good chunk of the movie.
