t.A.T.u Singer and Noted Fake Lesbian Says She Would 'Condemn' a Gay Son

t.A.T.u Singer and Noted Fake Lesbian Says She Would 'Condemn' a Gay Son You would assume, considering that Russian pop duo t.A.T.u pretended to be lesbians for their act, that they would be accepting of gay people.

Boy, would you be wrong.

Julia Volkova, one half of the pop group, appeared on Ukrainian talk show "Lie Detector" and said that, while she would be slightly more accepting of a gay daughter, she would "condemn" her son if he was gay.

"Yes, I would condemn him, because I believe that a real man must be a real man," she said. "God created man for procreation, it is the nature. The man for me is the support, the strength of... I won't accept a gay son."

She went on to explain why lesbians are better in her eyes than gay men: "It seems to me that lesbians look aesthetically much nicer than two men holding their hands or kissing."

It would be hilarious if it weren't so horrifying.

"I want to say that I'm not against gays, I just want my son to be a real man, not a f-g," she clarified, unhelpfully. "I have many gay friends. I believe that being gay is all still better than murderers, thieves or drug addicts. If you choose out of all this, being gay is a little better than the rest."

Unfortunately, her views are not that uncommon in Russia, a country that outlawed any and all gay "propaganda," such as rainbow flags, ahead of the 2014 winter Olympic games in Sochi.

More strangely, Volkova seemed to contradict this anti-gay rant back in 2006, in an interview. "Our slogan is to love and it's not important whom to love," she said, explainin t.A.T.u's philosophy. "We want to say that a boy can love a boy and a girl can love a girl. If all people would love each other, it would be easier to live in this world. If people are led by hatred and evil, nothing good would happen from this."

Uh huh.
