Target Selling $1,000 'Hunger Games' Mockingjay Pin

May the sales be ever in your favor.

The normally very bargain-friendly Target store chain is planning to sell a big-ticket item to commemorate the imminent release of "The Hunger Games" on Blu-Ray and DVD later this month. No, it's not a silver bow and arrow, though that would be pretty cool (albeit dangerous).

The item is a solid gold Mockingjay pin, modeled exactly like the one that Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawrence) wears in the movie. Unlike Katniss, though, fans won't be able to get this pin for free: the pin will come with a $1,000 price tag.

Okay, it's technically $999, but still. That's one expensive symbol of the rebellion in the districts.

That's not the only high-end piece of "Hunger Games" memorabilia, either: Target will also be selling a leather hunting jacket like the one Katniss wears for $349, as well as a lithograph signed by the cast for $699, according to THR.

The high price tag isn't the only thing getting in the way of everyday fans making a purchase, either, as Target will only be selling 100 of these special items. What do you think, folks? Will they sell out quickly, or is Target nuts for trying these high-priced collectibles?
