Tara Reid and Ian Ziering Are Coming Back for 'Sharknado 3'

You guys were worried. We know. You were worried that the stars of "Sharknado" and "Sharknado 2: The Second One" wouldn't return to do "Sharknado 3."

Well, worry your pretty little head no more.

Syfy has announced that Tara Reid and Ian Ziering will both be returning to star in the third "Sharknado" movie, which is set to air in July of this year.

The movie will also see the franchise's director, Anthony C. Ferrante, returning to head up the project. The script will be written by the aptly named Thunder Levin, who wrote the first two movies.

This time around, the titular natural disaster will occur on the East Coast, raining down sharks over Washington, D.C. We have to assume that the President of the United States will be in danger at some point due to the flying killer sharks.

As of yet, "Sharknado 3" doesn't have a subtitle, but you can bet that it'll be ever so slightly ironic.

The original "Sharknado" became such a cult hit that local movie theaters began screening the TV movie weeks after it premiered on Syfy. "Sharknado 2" was Syfy's most-watched original movie, bringing in 3.9 million viewers. Despite the success of the franchise, "Sharknado 3" might be the last: Syfy has announced that it plans on changing direction and focusing more on its non-ironic original series as opposed to pushing self-aware B-movies.
