'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Set to Host CBS Talk Show

'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Set to Host CBS Talk Show During his time as the host of "Survivor," Jeff Probst has hosted in some of the wildest, most remote areas of the world. But none of them are as scary and unforgiving as the world he is about to enter: the world of daytime television.

Probst has struck a deal with CBS that has him developing a daytime talk show with the network, set to premiere in fall 2012. The show will be an hour-long deal, dividing its time between news stories and human interest stories, as Probst covers events and conducts interviews.

With Oprah out of her usual post, a number of other TV personalities are jumping into the daytime talk show ring: Katie Couric and Bethenny Frankel are two others who plan on having daytime talk shows soon, hopefully by fall of 2012 as well.

Probst seems the right man for the job: not only did he win the Emmy for Outstanding Host of a Reality Program three years in a row from 2008 to 2010 for his work on "Survivor," but has also filled in as a guest host for Regis Philbin and Larry King on their respective talk shows.

"I'm fascinated with human nature and thrilled that this show will allow me the opportunity to connect with real people and explore their stories on a personal level," said Probst.
