The Surprising Reason Kendall Jenner is Ditching Victoria's Secret

Kendall Jenner, one of the stars of Keeping Up with The Kardashians, has been reliable fixture in the annual Victoria's Secret fashion show, but she's skipping the even this year. Turns out that her decision to break with VS is nothing personal; it's merely business.

As models excitedly post social media announcements that they’ll be walking in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, one woman has been notably silent: Kendall Jenner. Despite having walked what is arguably the most famous runway in the world for the last two years, she will not be joining the lineup for a third time. The reason? Jenner reportedly traded in her wings for a better (a.k.a. more lucrative) lingerie deal. A Kardashian source revealed to TMZ that the top model has signed a “multi-million dollar deal” to model for La Perla lingerie, meaning that there was no shot that the 21-year-old would even be spotted at the Victoria’s Secret auditions, where almost every model seemed to make an appearance this past week.

A no-compete clause within Jenner’s La Perla contract reportedly ensures that she cannot use her killer body (or her 83-million-and-counting Instagram following) to support a major competitor like Victoria’s Secret. But it doesn’t seem like the model is going to let the FOMO of not heading to Shanghai get to her. As the VS models, including Jenner’s besties Gigi and Bella Hadid, took to Instagram to express their excitement over landing a spot in the show, Jenner revealed her latest La Perla campaign on her account, posting not one but two sexy photos: one in a fuchsia lace bodysuit, and the other in a blue sheer bra-and-panty set with thigh-highs.
