'Super 8' Trailer Finally Lands, Reveals a Few More Hints

Yesterday, we were treated to a short synopsis of "Lost" creator J.J. Abrams' new movie, "Super 8." The synopsis gave us a little bit of info as to what happens in the film: a group of kids shooting a movie witness a train crash, and the inhuman cargo breaks loose. Today, the theatrical trailer was released, giving us a closer look at our heroes and exactly what they're dealing with.

What did we learn from today's trailer? I'm surprised to see that the kids who catch the crash on film are younger than I thought they would be. We really will be seeing these events through the eyes of some young kids, which is always a risk as you have to find good young actors.

Unfortunately, the trailer doesn't really give us a glimpse at the monster, whatever it is, but it does give us an idea of what it can do. Objects float in the air and move by themselves: could we be dealing with a telekinetic being, maybe a military experiment to give humans superpowers?

That could give the title "Super 8" a double-meaning: it refers to the film the kids are shooting on, and could also refer to eight experimental subjects with superhuman abilities. That's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.
