Summer TV Series Feature: USA's 'Suits' and 'Necessary Roughness' (Watch Clips)

Summer TV Series Feature: USA's 'Suits' and 'Necessary Roughness' (Watch Clips) USA Network brings two new scripted series to their summer TV lineup.

"Suits": A legal drama with a twist, this series follows one of Manhattan's most high profile corporate lawyers, Harvey Specter, as he searches for a new associate. Throughout the search he is only impressed by one candidate, the one guy who never graduated law school.

Enter Mike, he's the genius (and sexy) college dropout who couldn't be more suited for the position...except for that "passing the bar" thing but who's keeping track?

The premise is a bit reminiscent of Bradley Cooper in "Limitless" but more thought-provoking and focused. If all goes according to plan for Specter and his new hire, this duo could be like the "Nip/Tuck" hotties, but in the legal world, and hopefully with a smidgen more conscience.

Gabriel Macht of "Love and Other Drugs" and Patrick J. Adams of "Lost" costar as Harvey and Mike respectively.

Watch a clip from the premiere of 'Suits' and be sure to tune to USA on June 23 at 10/9c:

"Necessary Roughness": A newly-single mother, Dani Santino, is looking to resurrect her career and life in general. After capitalizing the opportunity to become the team therapist to a professional football organization, Santino becomes therapist to the rich, famous and royally screwed up.

The series is relatable for women of all ages, divorcées in particular, but also takes a look inside the big, bad world of sports and what it's like to be a woman in a man's world. Callie Thorne of "The Wire" and "Rescue Me" stars as tough-cookie Dani Santino. What can I say, I love a badass, independent woman.

While both shows have a target audience, both also incorporate themes that appeal to a wider demographic. Smart, USA, very smart.
