Subway Jared Faces Federal Child Porn Raid
by Andy Neuenschwander
He's made millions off of eating Subway sandwiches, but today was not a good day for Jared Fogle.
Federal agents raided the Subway spokesman's house today as part of an ongoing investigation over child pornography. A few months back, police arrested one of Jared's high-level employees, Russell Taylor, for possession of child porn and other charges.
Taylor, who served as the executive director of The Jared Foundation, a group that aims to help kids learn healthy eating and exercise habits, was found to have over 500 explicit images of children in his home. He later attempted suicide in prison but remains behind bars.
As for Fogle, there's no indication as to why the Feds chose to raid his home as well, but some outlets have speculated that it was due to a tip coming from a prisoner or others associated with the case. Subway and Fogle have already severed ties for the time being, mutually deciding to separate Fogle's name from the brand until the investigation is completed.
