Stephen Colbert Hosted a Public Access Show In Monroe, MI, with Eminem As His Guest
by Andy Neuenschwander
Stephen Colbert has ended "The Colbert Report" and is moving on to "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert." But there's one step in between those two for the television host: public access.
As part of the "warm up" for his new job on CBS late night, Colbert guest hosted an episode of "Only In Monroe," a public access show in Monroe, Michigan (population 20,405). Yes, really.
Over the course of the hour-long show, Colbert interviewed special guest Eminem, who sang a Bob Seger song for one of the most quintessentially Michigan things to ever happen. He also had his nails painted by the show's usual hosts, and helped get a Yelp reviewer a refund.
Basically, it was awesome.
Of course, Colbert will likely never return to "Only In Monroe" as his run on the Late Show starts this Fall, but let this serve as proof that Stephen Colbert makes any show magical.
