'Star Wars' Without Music Is Hilariously Awkward

Who knew John Williams was this important?

It's obvious that the composer's work is one of many great things about the original "Star Wars" trilogy, as the movie is full of iconic music. But as it turns out, when you take away Williams' music, scenes from "Star Wars" are just plain awkward.

This video comes from YouTube user Auralnauts, who does a number of mix videos featuring "Star Wars," "Lord of the Rings" and other fantasy epics. In the style of music videos without music, the video removes all of the original sound and adds only the sound effects that you would hear if you were actually in the room.

The result is the most awkward medal ceremony ever, complete with the occasional cough or shuffle from the crowd.

Oh, and Chewbacca seems to have had some help in post-production with his voice as well.

Meanwhile, J.J. Abrams toils away on the new "Star Wars" trilogy, starting with Episode VII. All we can say is thank goodness John Williams is coming back to compose the score for the upcoming movie.
