'Star Wars Episode VII' Cast Announced, Includes 'Girls' Star Adam Driver

Star Wars fans, here are your new cast members!

In an announcement today on StarWars.com, the main cast members of the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII" were revealed. The cast is an eclectic one, including some young, up-and-coming stars and some older veterans. Here's the list of new additions:

John Boyega
Adam Driver
Oscar Isaac
Andy Serkis
Domhnall Gleeson
Max Von Sydow

Those new cast members will officially join returning Star Wars legends Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).

There are definitely some interesting names on the list: Adam Driver, who currently stars in HBO's "Girls," has been rumored as a Sith for some time. John Boyega and Domhnall Gleeson, hailing from the UK and Ireland respectively, are lesser known but are just starting to get some recognition: Boyega recently starred in "Attack the Block" and will appear in the "24" reboot, while Gleeson starred in the sci-fi rom-com "About Time."

Another interesting name on the list is Andy Serkis, whom you might not recognize in person, though you know his work. He's a motion capture specialist in Hollywood, having provided the motion capture for Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" movies, as well as for Caesar in the "Planet of the Apes" reboot.

The "Star Wars" reboot, while is being helmed by J.J. Abrahms, will also feature the return of Lawrence Kasdan as writer and, of course, John Williams as composer.
