'Star Wars' Bloopers Storm YouTube (Video)

A rare blooper reel featuring behind-the-scenes outtakes from "Star Wars: Episode IV" has been around for awhile, but it's just now getting widespread attention from the mainstream media. The YouTube clip embedded below getting millions of hits, and all the exposure probably means that it won't be around much longer.

As blooper reels go, the two-and-a-half-minute clip is nothing spectacular, but behind-the-scenes footage from the original 1977 "Star Wars" film is scarce, making the reel a treasure for fans. It includes some on-camera flubs from Alec Guinness, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Peter Cushing, as well as stumbling Storm Troopers, a tumbling C3PO and malfunctioning battle helmets.

The footage was discovered recently by a "Star Wars" editor who was doing research for an upcoming book. The reel was screened at Comic-Con last July, but it is just now hitting the internet. You can expect lawyers for Disney, the corporation that owns the rights to the "Star Wars" franchise after its acquisition of Lucasfilm last year, to make sure that the unauthorized clip doesn't have a long life on YouTube, so watch it while you can.

The first film in the Disney-produced "Star Wars" sequel trilogy is due to be released in the summer of 2015.
