'Star Wars' Actor Jake Lloyd Arrested After Car Chase With Police
by Andy Neuenschwander
The man who once played a young Anakin Skywalker might not be such a great pod racer after all.
Jake Lloyd, the actor who starred in "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" as a child, was arrested today in Charleston, SC, for reckless driving and resisting arrest.
According to reports, Lloyd attempted to flee when an officer tried to pull him over, leading police on a car chase that ended when Lloyd lost control of his vehicle and went off the road, crashing into "several trees."
While a specific reason for his attempt to flee wasn't given, Lloyd was also charged with driving without a license, so that might explain why he didn't just pull over.
Lloyd continued acting for a bit after "The Phantom Menace," appearing in the 2005 film "Madison." However, he said in interviews that the "Star Wars" role made his childhood a "living hell" and was vocal about his regret over doing the movie. Lloyd has not acted in a major project since that 2005 role.
