Spooky A: 'Pretty Little Liars' Halloween Episode Clips

All-seeing, all-knowing text messages from beyond the grave might sounds like the plot of a horror movie. It's also the premise of ABC Family's smash hit "Pretty Little Liars" which comes back tonight to air a special Halloween episode of the show's on-break second season.

The episode airing tonight at 8 o'clock Eastern Standard time kicks off ABC Family's annual 13 Nights of Halloween. This is following a marathon of the show in which four girls are haunted by the murderer of their friend Alison, who also knows all their secrets.

Spooky! ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween is one of my favorite times of year and "Pretty Little Liars" will fit perfectly into the scary mold. It might be a soapy teen drama, but the show is expert at pulling out the thrills and chills.

The special episode airing is the 13th episode (spooky!) of the show's second season. Called "The First Secret" the show won't be picking up where the first half of the season left off though. Instead, it will be casting back into the past of the girls. The episode will reveal how the four girls became friends, how Alison met Jenna, and some background on both Noel Kahn and A's plan.

All this and awesome costumes too! (As a history geek I'm particularly in love with Spencer's Queen Elizabeth getup.) This episode is clearly a can't-miss for "Pretty Little Liars" fans.
