Snowbound? 4 Things to Watch While You're Stuck Inside This Weekend
by EG
If you're being pounded by a blizzard, why not wallow in it? The nice thing about this sequel to the 2002 animated hit Ice Age is that it takes place in an era when things started to warm up a little. It also features all the celebrity voices you loved from the original, so even if it's not quite as good as the first installment, it's still good for a chuckle. You can find Ice Age: The Meltdown on Netflix.
Chelsea Does
Premiering on Netflix this weekend is a new miniseries from comic Chelsea Handler. In four feature-length episodes, Handler explores, semi-seriously, a few weighty issues: marriage, race, technology and drugs. If you're not already a fan of Handler's abrasive style, these lengthy episodes may be impossible to get through, but if you are a fan, they'll keep you busy for a while. Chelsea Does debuts on Saturday, January 23.
The host of this week's episode is mixed martials arts star Ronda Rousey. This will be Rousey's first high-profile appearance since losing her title to Holly Holm last November, and it will be interesting to see how willing the once infamously confident Rousey is to make fun of herself. As a bonus, Selena Gomez is this week's musical guest.
The six-episode revival of the legendary paranormal investigation series from the 90s begins on Fox this weekend. Fans have been waiting years to find out what happened to Agents Mulder and Scully, and the time has finally come. The series debuts on Sunday at 10pm on Fox, and a second episode airs on Monday. To prepare, you can spend the weekend rewatching the entire original series on Netflix.
