SNL Busts Out its Schweddy Balls: New 'Saturday Night Live' Backstage Special on the Way (Bonus: Dana Carvey Promos) SNL will premiere never before seen interviews from casts, writers and hosts in a new special, “Saturday Night Live Backstage.”

The special will air on Sunday, Feb. 20, and delivers a behind-the-scenes tour that spans the history of the show. From Steve Martin’s “King Tut” to Alec Baldwin’s “Pete Schweddy (Balls),” viewers will get a two-hour dose of untold stories of fan favorites, auditions, and censorship.

The special will also feature stories and interviews with Lorne Michaels, creator and executive producer.

Additionally, some of the show’s brightest stars like Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm and Alec Baldwin will help tell the story of “Saturday Night Live.”

“This new special really does give viewers a backstage look at how SNL works. And it features both funny and candid behind-the-scenes stories that you’ve never heard, told by the biggest stars in entertainment from the entire span of the show,” said Rick Ludwin, Executive Vice President of Late Night and Prime Time Series.

A blast from the past, Dana Carvey, returns to host this week’s upcoming “Saturday Night Live” with musical guest Linkin Park. Carvey is known for his characters like Church Lady, Garth Algar (in Wayne’s World) and for his impersonation of George Bush.

Carvey joined SNL in 1986, along with newcomers like Phil Hartman, Kevin Nealon and Victoria Jackson. He pumped audiences up with the help of Franz (played by Nealon) until 1993, the same year he received an Emmy for "Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program."

For some time, Carvey held the record for saying, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!” He was surpassed by Darrell Hammond, but with the Feb. 5 gig, his fourth time to host, he may have the opportunity to add to his score
