'SNL' Spoofs Disastrous Pepsi Ad

NBC's Saturday Night Live took aim at Pepsi’s controversial ad starring Kendal Jenner this week with a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot.

Starring castmembers Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney, the sketch imagined the ad from the director's point of view. Bennett, acting as the commercial's writer/director, gets a call from his sister and describes his idea for the ad, but she doesn't have faith in his concept, making him question the whole thing.

"I think you just don't get it," Bennett tells her, trying to run it by someone else. "The whole thing is kind of an homage to the resistance."

He finally starts to get it: "Uh huh. Tone deaf?" he asks. "Oh, we're just using them ... to sell soda?"

Cecily Strong, portraying Jenner in the sketch, calls a friend to describe the commercial before going on set: "Um, I stop the police from shooting people by handing them a Pepsi? I know, it's cute, right?"
