SNL 40: Watch the Funniest Moments From Last Night's Big Show
by Andy Neuenschwander
Last night, legends of the comedy scene took to the "Saturday Night Live" stage to celebrate 40 years of the sketch show's history. Chances are if you were on Twitter at all, you heard about it.
Any look out at the crowd watching the show was surreal: it seemed as though everyone famous was there, from "SNL" alumni like Adam Sandler and David Spade to comedians like Jerry Seinfeld and Louis C.K. to musicians like Kanye West and Miley Cyrus. Heck, even Sarah Palin was there.
In fact, Seinfeld and Palin had one of the funniest moments of the show, during Seinfeld's Q&A session:
Martin Short and Maya Rudolph (as Beyonce) hosted an entertaining segment taking a look back at some of the musical-comedy acts in "SNL" history, including Garth and Kat (Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen) and Marty & Bobbi Culp (Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer).
Ferrell also appeared in a super-sized "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketch featuring a veritable who's-who of the impersonated celebrities whose fictional personalities have become famous due to the sketch. Who of us doesn't think of Turd Ferguson when we see Burt Reynolds, or think "The Penis Mightier" when we hear Sean Connery's accent?
Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reunited for another "Wayne's World" sketch that had a live hiccup but still managed to have some funny moments...and pick on Kanye a couple of times.
And then there was a digital short from Andy Samberg and Adam Sandler, which was excellent both for its content and for the introduction by Zach Galifianakis.
