'Smallville' Actress Arrested on Sex Trafficking Charges

Smallville alum Allison Mack has been arrested on charges that the she recruited women into the infamous cult Nxivm and that those women were subjected to sexual abuse. The sex-trafficking charges go along with charges of conspiracy and forced labor. Mack has pleaded not guilty to the charges in an initial hearing.

On Friday, Jezebel reported that Smallville actress Allison Mack (she played Clark Kent’s best friend Chloe Sullivan) was arrested for her involvement and recruitment with sex cult DOS (“dominus obsequious sororium,” Latin for “master over the slave women”), part of the secretive group Nxivm.
Mack, alongside cult leader Keith Raniere, have been charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy. After pleading not guilty Friday afternoon, Mack is set appear in appear in Brooklyn federal court for a bail hearing later today.
That does not mean, however, that members of the cult are free. According to Page Six, actress India Oxenberg, the 26-year-old daughter of Dynasty star Catherine Oxenberg and granddaughter of Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, was a victim of Nxivm and her family believe her to be “brainwashed” by Raniere and Mack.
