'Sleepy Hollow' Season 2, Episode 12: 'Paradise Lost' Recap

Six weeks after Henry killed Moloch and vanished, no one can seem to adjust to normal life. Ichabod is desperately seeking something to do, and he manages to find it. A few demons have escaped Purgatory and are hiding out at a farm. He and Abbie find them, but before they can fight, an angel swoops in and kills one, as the others flee.

His name is Orion, and he was trapped in Purgatory as well. Moloch's death has freed him, and he is hunting others who escaped... as well as the Horseman of Death, who imprisoned him there.

Ichabod and Katrina are re-examining their marriage. She is determined to try to save Abraham somehow. She thinks she can find a way to make him mortal again. She makes him promise not to kill anyone until she can find a way. When she meets the angel Orion, who is seeking Abraham, she sneaks off and frees him.

The remaining demons, who are seeking a leader, find Abraham. Abbie summons Orion and tells him where Abraham is, going against Ichabod and Katrina. However Ichabod calls with a warning against Orion - he seems to always be present at great disasters. Is he bringing them or warning against them?

Abbie talks to Orion and finds that he wants to purge the earth and rebuild it, bringing down judgement. She realizes he is a zealot. He goes to kill Abraham, trying to steal his power, but Ichabod and Abbie foil him and save Abraham. Orion flies off, and Abraham doesn't kill Ichabod, but refuses to be put back in his prison.

In a convenience store, a barefoot Irving wanders in and starts eating, confused about whether he is in Heaven or Hell. The attendant tells him he's in Sleepy Hollow.
