Defying the Laws of Intelligence: The Situation Gets a Spin-Off with MTV

Defying the Laws of Intelligence: The Situation Gets a Spin-Off with MTV All right, we got a situation right here: Mike Sorrentino, a.k.a. "The Situation," is the latest "Jersey Shore" star to land a development deal with MTV.

What does that mean? We'll probably be seeing a Situation spin-off sometime after the fourth season of "Jersey Shore" airs. The upcoming fourth season, set in Italy, is thought to be the last one featuring the current cast.

As such, the stars not only upped their pay demands for the final season (they're now making six figures per episode), but some of them are trying to plan spin-offs already. Snooki and JWoww will team up for their own post-"Shore" show, and Pauly D will have his own spin-off as well.

Variety reported The Situation's deal yesterday along with a statement from the abdominal wonder:

"I'm excited to continue my relationship with MTV, which has been home for me for the last couple of years. I'm really grateful for all the support from my fans. Hopefully, there will be plenty more situations in the future."

There are no details yet as to what format The Situation's show will follow when (and if) he makes one. Most likely, it will be similar to the plans of the other "Jersey Shore" castmates, that is, follow them around with a camera while they do dumb stuff.

But Sitch has his own development deal here, and he could get creative with his show! Maybe he could pull lame pranks on people? Host a "Biggest Loser" style reality show in which he trains people to see who can get the best six-pack? Maybe a dating show called "Dodge the Grenade" could work?

If you were a programming executive, what would you have "The Situation" do on his reality show?
