'The Simpsons' Mocks 'Twilight,' 'True Blood' and 'Harry Potter' (VIDEO)

'The Simpsons' Mocks 'Twilight,' 'True Blood' and 'Harry Potter' (VIDEO) The most recent episode of "The Simpsons" played a lot differently than the show used to, but it still managed to be one of the more original and humorous episodes in a while. And it didn't hurt that it poked fun at "Twilight" and "Harry Potter," either.

In the episode, titled "The Book Job," Homer hatches a get-rich-quick plan after Lisa informs him that every young adult novel out there is just a product. That leads to a full-on "Ocean's Eleven" homage as Homer assembles a team that can think up a hit young adult novel.

The brainstorming session results in some jabs at "Twilight," "True Blood" and even "Harry Potter," as the group ditches the vampire angle (it's overplayed) and instead pretty much comes up with the plot of the "Harry Potter" books, except the main character is a troll.

As a bonus, fantasy author Neil Gaiman (who manages to write hit novels for adults and tweens without the use of vampires or wizards) decides to join the group as well, and even tries out an American accent.
