“Silver Linings Playbook” certainly cleaned up in the award department at the 17th annual Satellite Awards.
The awards, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Beverly Hills and presented by the International Press Academy, gave “Silver Linings” a whopping five awards.
Director David O. Russell received best director, while Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence raked in best actor and best actress. It was also named best picture, and, for good measure, took home another award for editing.
“Homeland” and “The Big Bang Theory” also did well at the awards, pulling in three each, including best drama (“Homeland” obviously) and best comedy (clearly not “Homeland”).
Anne Hathaway took the best supporting actress award for her work in Christmas’ “Les Miserables.” The film also took prizes for best song and best sound.
Javier Barem went home with best supporting actor for “Skyfall.”
“Walking Dead” took home best ensemble for television, while “Rise of the Guardians” was honored with best animated film.
Mark Boal was awarded for his “Zero Dark Thirty” screenplay, and David Magee took home best adaptation for “Life of Pi.”
“Hatfields & McCoys” took home best miniseries/ motion picture made for television.
Julianne Moore won for television actress in a miniseries for “Game Change,” Benedict Cumberbatch for actor in a miniseries for “Sherlock,” and Maggie Smith for supporting actress in a miniseries for her work on the popular “Downton Abbey.”
Claire Danes and Damien Lewis took the award for best actress and actor in a drama.
