What shows will be affected my Hurricane Sandy?
by Nicholas PageHurricane Sandy is running its course in the northeast, including NYC. Many shows being shot in New York are currently being affected and shut down. Shows like Elementary, Gossip Girl, The Good Wife, Person of Interest, 30 Rock, Nurse Jackie, Smash, Special Victims Unit, Celebrity Apprentice, 666 Park Avenue are currently being shut down.
Daytime and late night talk show's production are also currently being halted. Top rated Gab fest The View and Comedy Centrals political talk shows The Daily Show and Colbert Report are all down indefinitely. Even the LA based Jimmy Kimmel Live is being affected. They are shooting in Brooklyn this week, and at least for tonight, they won't being airing live.
Most of the morning news shows still aired devoting almost all of their coverage to the storm. Shows like Today, GMA, and CBS's This Morning all aired in their normal time. GMA even titled the show "Halloween Super Storm"
The storm will also wreak havoc on the ratings for a short time. Over the next week, Nielsen expects many markets on the East coast to be down including the number one market, New York. While the numbers may be uneven for a while, the ratings could climb slightly as many people on the east coast are shut in.
We all wish everyone on the East coast the best and hope that everyone stays safe.
