Another 'Indiana Jones'? Shia LaBeouf Claims Fifth Epic Not So Far Away, Script is Written

So if Lil’ Indy is to be believed, it seems that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg might be ready to set the pail beneath an audience-beloved cash cow’s udders one more time.

MTV spoke with Shia LaBeouf at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this week, and the man who played Indian Jones’ long-lost son in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” claims that not only is a fifth flick on the way, he’s already glimpsed the script.

"I talked to [Harrison Ford]," he explained. "He said he's staying in the gym, he said he's heard no word, but he does know that [George Lucas] is out there looking for a MacGuffin. He said he's staying in the gym, so it means [the movie is] not so far off."

By all means, folks – grain of salt. Rumors have persisted that filming could begin in 2012, suggesting that it would be 2013 or so before it would hit theaters. Further rumors have hinted that Lucas and Spielberg want to take Indy and his son Mutt to the Bermuda Triangle for the fifth chapter in the legendary series.

Please, folks – proceed with caution. Though “Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull” grossed over $786 million worldwide, critics absolutely thrashed it. And, well . . . need anyone really be reminded of what “SouthPark” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone thought? Big, episode-long joke about Lucas and Spielberg “raping” Indiana Jones? Face it, when those two train their sights on you, you could have all the money in the world – you’re still a joke-butt.
