Shh! Can You Keep A Secret? Porn Star Sasha Grey Reads To Kids

Shh! Can You Keep A Secret? Porn Star Sasha Grey Reads To Kids Apparently, depending on one's day job, some people just won't let a good deed go unpunished. A Los Angeles elementary school may have actively lied about porn star-turned-conventional actress Sasha Grey reading to a class of first-graders.

Grey appeared in at Compton's Emerson Elementary School in conjunction with the Read Across America program. She tweeted later that the class of kids was apparently just the "sweetest."

According to TMZ, parents apparently heard about her appearance, raised a ruckus with school officials, and a school district representative apparently responded that "We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated (Sasha) was not present."

Then that's some ace Photoshop work you see above, by someone who picks some odd cut-and-paste settings.

Now, here's a fair question: it would be assumed that the concern would be that students would be exposed to what the porn legend and former "Entourage" co-star has done for a living. How would a first-grader even know what "porn" is, unless someone who hopefully has a very active conscience has already had that talk? Let's play a process-of-elimination game.

Rule out that it was Grey that explained that during her visit. If she had, any teacher would've probably forcibly removed her personally. It can be reasonably guessed that the subject never came up.

In fact, playground rumors being what they are, making a fuss over something of which the kids were blissfully ignorant to begin with has probably informed them more of who she is and what she does than anything Grey herself said or did during her visit. Kids hear parents talk. They probably didn't know what "porn" is or care who "Sasha Grey" is before parents started the fuss.

They probably damn sure have a pretty good idea now.

In fact, the kids look like they're having a great time - honestly, as does Grey. She's tastefully dressed, and looks more like an elementary-education teaching assistant than a porn star.

This appearance was as distanced from her adult career as could be, she was just trying to do something good, and because parents objected to her day job, her best efforts get thrown right back in her face.

Don't forget, either: this story has hit the internet days after Penn State students tipped over a news satellite truck after learning university trustees had sacked head football coach Joe Paterno because evidence suggests he enabled sexual abuse by an assistant coach - symbolically defending Paterno's apparent actions.

Why, again, is someone like Grey the one we shame?
