Shannon Elizabeth Completes Full-Cast Reunion for Fourth 'American Pie'

Life comes with few guarantees, folks. Still, I'll make one right now: you'll never hear a word of complaint from me about a sexed-up Shannon Elizabeth once more gracing a theater screen.

That goes double for this news: Elizabeth was the last holdout from the original cast to sign on for the fourth theatrical "American Pie" installment. Note the past-tense: Deadline reports that Elizabeth has signed on and will join the shooting of "American Reunion" next week in Atlanta alongside her original "American Pie" co-stars Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eugene Levy, Tara Reid and Seann William Scott.

Set aside the several direct-to-home-video sequels, most of which only featured Levy's Mr. Levenstein from the original cast of characters. This marks the first time the entire original motley crew has been assembled for a sequel to the smash-hit 1999 comedy that resurrected the teen-sex comedy genre. Reid didn't appear in 2001's "American Pie 2" and 2003's "American Wedding" featured only Biggs, Nicholas, Scott, Hannigan and Levy from the main cast. Elizabeth last appeared in her role as the super-sexed Czech exchange student Nadia in a brief appearance in "American Pie 2."

The original took in a $235.5-million worldwide gross and over $109 million in video rentals worldwide. Not bad, for a film with a $10-million budget cast mostly with then-unknowns.

This installment - scripted by "Harold & Kumar" writing duo Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg - will see the gang return to East Great Falls for their high school reunion.

Deadline didn't indicate a release date for the project.
