Selena Gomez, famous for her role on "Wizards of Waverly Place" and for her current world record in putting up with Justin Bieber for the longest amount of time, got a new tattoo that her tattoo artist showed off on Instagram.

"Its meaning translates to 'Love Yourself,'" said Bang Bang McCurdy (real name), the artist who inked the tattoo. Others have noted that the tattoo seems to actually read "Love Yourself First."

So, perhaps the 21-year-old pop star has learned an important lesson from her time dating Bieber about taking the time to get to know and love yourself before getting into a long-term relationship, lest you end up with the kind of douchenozzle who pees into mop buckets. Or maybe she's really into cultural appropriation but thought that Chinese symbols were too passé.

Either way, we're assured that Gomez "loved it" and "flipped out" when she saw the finished product. We also learned from Bang Bang that Gomez came in with the tattoo design written out the way she wanted it, so let's hope she did it correctly and didn't accidentally write "luggage" or something.

Bang Bang also revealed that Gomez already has about five or six tattoos, three of which he has inked himself. For those keeping score, Bieber has about 20, so yes, Gomez is still winning in the life choices category.
