Selena Gomez Has a Radical New Haircut

13 Reasons Why producer Selena Gomez got her new haircut on an impulse, according to her stylist. The extreme new undercut is a big departure from the way Selena had been wearing her hair, and if she changes her mind about how much she likes it, she's going to have to wait about a year for it to grow out.

Selena Gomez is something of a hair chameleon, having test-driven a bob, bangs and a platinum-blond dye job in the past six months alone. But the 25-year-old debuted what is arguably her boldest ’do to date on Monday: a buzzed undercut courtesy of LA hairstylist Tim Dueñas, which Gomez’s longtime hairstylist Marissa Marino paired with a slicked-back braid.

According to Dueñas, the look was “all Selena’s idea” — and was an impulse decision for the star.

“I asked her, ‘Well, how long have you been debating it?'” Dueñas tells Page Six. “And she said, ‘[Since] last night!’ She was like, ‘When I want to go for something, I do it.’ I think she just wanted a change.”

The stylist adds that Gomez’s new look took “10 minutes, max” to create — but hopefully the “Wolves” singer likes her new look, because she’ll be stuck with it for far longer.

The grow-out period for an undercut like hers? “About a year, depending on how fast the hair grows,” Dueñas says.
