See the Bloody Posters for 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 3

We've already shown you the promo trailer for "The Vampire Diaries" season three, but if that's not enough to hold you over until the September 15th premiere, here's another bit of TVD goodness for you.

"The Vampire Diaries" has released four brand-new character posters to tease the new season. The posters feature Elena (Nina Dobrev), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan), each smoldering and holding a dripping red fruit.

Elena, interestingly, is holding a pomegranate, which might be calling the myth of Persephone into play here. Also, the red juice covering her hand and arm makes sense, but I don't think I want to know how the three vampires got their fruit so bloody.
