See And Hear MGMT Cover Pink Floyd's 'Lucifer Sam' On 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon'

See And Hear MGMT Cover Pink Floyd's 'Lucifer Sam' On 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' From Jimmy Fallon, to you and yours, Happy Pink Floyd Week!

The "Late Night" host declared a whole week paying the pioneering space-rockers and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers tribute, and talked five great acts into stopping by all week to cover a few Floyd favorites.

Tuesday night, Fallon welcomed MGMT, who performed the steady, go-go dance-sounding "Lucifer Sam" from Pink Floyd's 1967 debutĀ Piper At The Gates Of Dawn.

I have no idea whether or not Fallon or producers offered any input toward which bands covered which songs - since other guests this week include Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Dierks Bentley and the Shins - but MGMT and "Lucifer Sam" match up damn near perfectly.

The psychedelic indie rockers ended up paying one steady-as-a-clock tribute with the early number to founding member, singer and guitarist Syd Barrett precision guitar work. This was definitely a simpler Floyd, well worth enjoying and appreciating every bit as much as Dark Side Of The Moon or The Wall.

Country star Bentley stops by Thursday night, with his rendition of "Wish You Were Here."
