'Secret Circle' Actress Joins 'Vampire Diaries' Season 4

"The Secret Circle," the short-lived spin-off of "The Vampire Diaries" on The CW, is done, but it looks as though the defunct show might still serve a helpful purpose for "TVD" as a source of actors.
Case in point, former "Secret Circle" star Phoebe Tonkin has landed a role in "The Vampire Diaries" season four, making the leap from Chance Harbor to Mystic Falls. Tonkin, who played Faye on "Secret Circle," will be playing the role of Hayley on "TVD."
The word is that Hayley is a free-spirited girl who has a history with Tyler, which could mean trouble for Tyler and Caroline. Plus, Tyler has that whole Klaus thing to worry about...
Tonkin will show up in the third episode of season four, which is set to return to The CW on October 11.
