Second Season for Sarah Palin's Alaska Still in Question

Sarah Palin's Alaska Many are wondering if TLC will renew the contract of the former Alaska governor and Republican Vice-presidential Candidate Sarah Palin’s hit reality TV show Sarah Palin’s Alaska for another season.

There are floating speculations that reason why TLC is not renewing Sarah Palin’s Alaska because Palin is planning to run for President in 2012. If this is the case Palin needs to concentrate her time in preparing herself and planning for strategies to win the presidential election instead of spending her time in filming for the reality show.

According to EW, Palin and TLC have no plans to shoot a second season of the reality show.

Sarah Palin’s Alaska is actually a very popular reality show for TLC with a weekly average of 3.2 million viewers every Sunday. Remember that the first episode of the show enjoyeda high rating with 5 million viewers.

"Sarah knows to strike when the iron is hot and started talking about season two right after the show debuted to huge numbers. She knows that celebrities get millions of dollar for each episode of their shows and thinks she's worth it too. Jennifer Aniston took home millions from 'Friends' and in Sarah's eyes, she's no different," said one source.

Based on reports Sarah Palin was making more than $250,000 per episode of the eight-week series of the show.

Sarah Palin received negative remarks from PETA after the airing of the controversial episode about hunting in Alaska. During the show, Palin shot and killed a caribou. She said, "Hunting is something most Alaskans do to fill their freezer with meat for the winter."

Palin also tweeted "Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather chair or eaten meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode."

Another controversial episode was the camping with Kate Plus 8 host Kate Gosselin and her children. In this episode, Gosselin said, “I’m worried about my toes; they’re freezing,  I’ve been bitten by bug about 200 times; it’s horrible... I’m miserable, but somebody‘s gotta be... this is cruel and unusual punishment... the kids are having fun, so I'm tolerating it.”

Gosselin backed out from the camping and gathered her kids despite their protest.
