Scream Queens Season 2 Details Released
by EG
The first season of Fox's horror comedy series Scream Queens was far from a ratings success, but the network gave it another shot anyway by renewing the series for a second season. Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk had said from the beginning that subsequent seasons of the series would feature different settings and situations from the first, and this week the team gave some hints about what will be new in season 2.
Although the series' plot and setting will undergo significant changes, most of the cast, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Keke Palmer and Lea Michele, will be back, and they'll be playing the same characters that they played in the first season.
The biggest changes come in the realm of setting. Curtis is no longer dean of a college; she has moved on and bought a mental hospital. The sorority girls of the first season are now patients in the mental institution. Palmer's character, Zayday, will be a young doctor-in-training under Curtis' character.
In a panel at PaleyFest, Falchuk explained that the plot of the season will draw inspiration from the Halloween franchise, in which Curtis starred. The second film in that franchise was also set in a hospital.
