Say Hello to the new 'Ninja Turtles'!
by Zack WellsParamount Pictures has recently revealed the line-up for the upcoming Michael Bay produced “Ninja Turtles”. Are you sitting down?
In order:
The meaty, all-American looking Alan Ritchson is set to play the team’s hotheade Raphael. You may know Alan Ritchson from the upcoming “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, as well as “Hawaii Five-0”, “Blue Mountain State”, and “90210”.
The very familiar faced Jeremy Howard is set to the play the brains of the group, Donatello. Jeremy Howard has been in many shows in movies ranging from “Breaking Bad”, “Monk”, “House” to “Galaxy Quest”, “Accepted”, and “Men in Black II”.
Relative newcomer Pete Ploszek is set to play the group’s moral compass, Leonardo. Pete Ploszek’s acting credits include “Shameless” and “Parks and Recreation”.
And finally, the Canadian actor Noel Fisher will play the group’s party guy, Michaelangelo. Noel Fisher has been featured in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”, “Hatfields & McCoys”, and “Shameless”.
Traditionally, the actors only provided their voices to the turtles, while other actors put on the costumes, but this time around, motion capture will be involved, and their faces and body language will shape the turtles they play, much like “Avatar”.
As you may already know, Megan Fox is confirmed to be playing the leading lady of this movie, most likely April O’Neil, but it’s not 100% confirmed that the leading lady will be April O’Neil. With Michael Bay involved, can anyone really be sure?
It’s also been revealed that Paramount Pictures intends for this film to be the beginning of a new “Ninja Turtles” franchise, so you can expect many sequels to come, so long as people are willing to pay to watch.
Now we just have to wait for them to announce who will be playing the evil and terrifying Shredder.
“Ninja Turtles” is set to hit theaters June 6th, 2014.
