Sarah Salvatore Coming Back to 'Vampire Diaries'

Sarah Salvatore Coming Back to 'Vampire Diaries'

The Vampire Diaries' creator Julie Plec has said that the upcoming eighth season of the series, which will be its last, will be something of a season-long reunion, with departed characters making a return to Mystic Falls for one more bow before the end. This week, we found out who one of those characters is going to be.

Tristin Mays, who plays Sarah Salvatore, the niece of Stefan (who is played by Paul Wesley), confirmed this week that she'll return to TVD sometime in the eighth season. We last saw Sarah in season six, when she was advised to leave town by Enzo. She obviously didn't follow that advice, at least not in the long run, as evidenced by a tweet that Mays posted recently.

While fans might be happy to hear of Sarah's return, they're more eager to find out details about another character's reunion with the Mystic Falls gang. Plec has said that she won't end the series without bringing back Elena, who is played by Nina Dobrev, in some capacity. There are no details yet concerning Elena's return, but fans are hoping that it will consist of something more than a last-episode cameo.
