'Sam & Cat' Canceled - Ariana Grande Says Farewell

'Sam & Cat' Canceled - Ariana Grande Says Farewell After one season, "Sam & Cat" is calling it good.

The Nickelodeon show, which stars pop singer Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy, "will not be producing more episodes," said the network in a statement.

Grande addressed the cancelation via her social media outlets, and draws attention to the rumors that salary negotiations and problems off-set were to blame for the show ending.

"I want to thank Nickelodeon for making a childhood dream of mine come true, for being a family to me, for being so accomodating and supportive of my multitasking with my music career, and for of course introducing me to many of my fans however many years ago."

Grande went on to thank the show's creator, the cast and crew, and fans, but made no mention of her on-screen partner, McCurdy.

In spring, word on the street had it that there was tension between the two stars due to salary differences. These, Grande claims, are incorrect.

"The rumor circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false. I don't know who's putting these idiotic quotes out there but I thought I'd straighten it out and try to end this nonsense."

She added that she and McCurdy agreed that they "would be treated equally" in "all regards.

Earlier in spring, NSFW photos of McCurdy leaked online, which brought production to a halt. McCurdy also failed to appear at Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards with Grande.

Perhaps salary issues weren't the only strain on production?

Regardless, the whopping 40-episode first season will be the last for "Sam & Cat."
