SAG Award Nominations Include 'True Detective,' 'Game of Thrones' and Lots of 'Birdman'

It's awards season time!

The Oscars are around the corner and so are the Golden Globes, but the first set of nominations out are for the Screen Actor's Guild Awards, which honor actors and ensemble casts in both television and movies.

This year features a lot of the same as far as nominations go, with the Guild giving noms to the likes of "The Big Bang Theory" and "Modern Family" actors on the comedy side and "Game of Thrones" on the drama side. Somehow, Edie Falco has received yet another nomination in the comedy category for "Nurse Jackie." Who is even watching "Nurse Jackie?"

In terms of movies, "Birdman" leads the list with nominations for Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Edward Norton and for the whole ensemble. It's not surprising, considering the movie was very actor-focused and featured long takes and impassioned speeches.

"Boyhood" also nabbed some nominations, and presents an interesting case as the actors starred in the movie over a period of 12 years.
