Russell Armstrong: Bravo Running Special on 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Suicide

Russell Armstrong: Bravo Running Special on 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Suicide When a horrible tragedy strikes your highly-rated reality TV show, what should you do? Probably not this, but what Bravo's reportedly going to do is air a two-hour special on it.

According to Entertainment Weekly, in response to the suicide of cast member Russell Armstrong, whose problems had been heavily featured in the reality series, "the network has shot a special that included several cast members of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' — Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards, and Adrienne Maloof."

Taylor Armstrong will not be appearing in the special, which is none too surprising (and shockingly decent of her).

Bravo is, of course, tempting fate with this one, or at least they have to be prepared for a lawsuit.

Armstrong's mother John Ann Hotchkiss had some harsh and threatening words for the network's executives in a recent CNN interview: "Better not air one frame of my son -- or else!"

Or perhaps put more succinctly, "Bravo is at fault and somebody needs to pay," as Armstrong's stepbrother Wade Jackson told Radar Online.

Of course, Russell Armstrong is not the first reality contestant to commit suicide in recent years. In fact, we highlighted five major reality tv suicides in a recent article, making the point that the television industry may be forced to take a closer look at how it handles at-risk cast members, and perhaps even define a more ethical way to deal with real life tragedy.

Is that what Bravo's doing with its two-hour special? We'll have to wait and see.
