This week, two allies of the two probable presidential prospects will sit down to discuss campaign directions, now that the head-to-head battle looks all but set. Congressional Barack Obama ally and Assistant Majority Leader Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Il.) will join a tete-a-tete alongside Mitt Romney backer and House Budget Chair Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).
FOX News Sunday
Ryan looks to have a very visible weekend. He'll also be a guest of Chris Wallace on "FOX News Sunday" to discuss how economic policy prospects could sway the election. Here's Wallace himself with a more in-depth preview.
In the lead story, "Sunday Morning" will explore why more American adults are increasingly embracing an individualist isolationism, rather than seeking to start a family. In fact, the "island" seems to be a theme this week; the remaining slate includes stories profiling the isolation and loneliness of off-shore oil rigs, Mo Rocca's visits to some of history's most famous islands and the duality of Guam as both military outpost and vacation destination, among other stories.
CBS Face The Nation
It's another budget battle on CBS' "Face The Nation." Host Bob Schieffer will be joined by Senate Budget Committee members Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Mark Warner (D-W.Va.) to talk about the declaration by House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) that he'll once more "insist on . . . cuts and reforms greater than the debt limit increase."
