Rumor: Chris Brown To Perform With Rihanna On 'American Idol'?
by Sean ComerOh, Heavens. If winning a Grammy made the King of All Jack-holes think he could walk on water, this (if true) probably has him chucking tuna and Wonderbread at the hungry.
Whether anybody likes it or not, the two songs Rihanna and Chris Brown recorded together apparently might not be the only collaborations those two had left in the tank. An "insider" reportedly told E! News that "American Idol" producers want to reunite the two on-stage in primetime on FOX. That would mark the first time the two have performed together since beat his then-girlfriend to a pulp the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Hints that the two may have reconciled gained merit earlier this week when The Dream, the producer that put together the pair's "Birthday Cake" duet, told MTV that Rihanna suggested getting Brown involved.
"At the end of the day, she's my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do," he said on "RapFix."
"He's a kid, and she was a kid when this happened," he tacked on, making it sound suspiciously like making an excuse.
Hold the phone, though. It's anything but confirmed. When asked, Rihanna's rep told E! "It's not true." Just as importantly, FOX apparently hasn't approved anything yet, and didn't comment to E! on the idea.. It's merely an idea that's in early-discussion stages.
