Rosie O'Donnell Might Rejoin 'The View' After Controversial Exit 7 Years Ago

Rosie O'Donnell Might Rejoin 'The View' After Controversial Exit 7 Years Ago There's been a lot of casting talk concerning "The View," but we're still surprised to hear about this.

Rosie O'Donnell is reportedly considering a return to the show, according to a source close to "The View." The speculation is interesting, considering the fact that Rosie used to be a panelist on the show before exiting about seven years ago after some public verbal sparring matches against then co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

I didn't want to argue for a living," Rosie told Oprah Winfrey in an intervew after her exit. "It was not my show, and I didn't have the control that I was used to. And the executive producer and I did not gel."

Since then, Rosie had been invited back on as a guest by Barbara Walters, but had not considered a permanent return.

"The View" could certainly use the help: Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd are about to leave the ABC series, leaving a number of vacancies after Barbara Walters completed her final episode back in May. In fact, with Joy Behar also gone, the only constant on the show is Whoopi Goldberg.

O'Donnell isn't close to a done deal yet, and TMZ has been reporting that sources close to the show are saying that a latina and a conservative would be the show's ideal replacements.
