Robert Redford Teams with Nick Nolte for 'A Walk in the Woods'

For those who are tired of seeing young adult books getting adapted into movies, here's something to get excited about: Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" is going to made into a movie!

The film is a project that Robert Redford has been wanting to do for a while now...Redford first announced the idea back in 2005, and hoped that he could reunite with his "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" co-star Paul Newman for the film. Sadly, Newman passed away and Redford had to find a new co-star, but his new choice of Nick Nolte isn't too shabby.

The story is an autobiographical one, centering on author Bill Bryson as he attempt to hike the Appalachian Trail with his friend Stephen Katz. The only problem is, the two of them are getting on in age, Stephen is tremendously out of shape, and neither of them know the first thing about hiking. Or camping. Or, really, the Appalachian Trail.

Nolte is an interesting choice for the role of Stephen, as the way he is described in the book brings a Jason-Alexander-before-Jenny-Craig type to mind. But Nolte is a talented, if not a little crazy, actor and should fill the role well. The resulting film will be part nature movie, part buddy comedy, and should be a lot of fun.
