Robert Pattinson On the Short List to Become New Indiana Jones

Is R-Pattz going to be the new I-Jonez?

Sources are saying that "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson is on the short list of actors being considered to be the new Indiana Jones in the inevitable Disney reboot of the franchise. However, by "sources," we mean the British tabloid Daily Star, which could just be pulling this rumor out of a hat. A fedora, perhaps.

The report says that Disney is looking at "long-term options" for the franchise, and Pattinson has piqued some interest because of his popularity due to the "Twilight" series combined with proof of his acting chops in movies other than the "Twilight" series.

Disney recently purchased the rights to the franchise from Paramount, indicating that they plan to pull a Star Wars and reboot the thing in the near future. Of course, with Harrison Ford too old to play the role long-term and the Great Shia LaBeouf Experiment a definite failure, there's the question of who will take up the whip.

Bradley Cooper is another name that has been attached to the project, though if Disney really is looking at "long-term options," then Pattinson might have a good shot over Cooper due to their 11-year age difference.

What do you think? Should the British actor take on the great American role of Indiana Jones?
