Robert Pattinson Lined Up to Play Lawrence of Arabia
by Andy NeuenschwanderThings are really heating up for Robert Pattinson, who may not be doing big-budget studio movies like "Snow White and the Huntsman" (like a certain other someone), but is looking to be the most prolific of the young "Twilight" stars now that the series has wrapped up shooting.
Pattinson's newest role will be in the Werner Herzog indie biopic "Queen of the Desert," which will tell the story of English writer Gertrude Bell. She was an acquaintance of T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, who will be played by Pattinson.
This follows up two other recently announced roles for Pattinson: one in a futuristic western called "The Rover," and the other as the soldier who tracked down Saddam Hussein in "Mission: Blacklist."
Meanwhile, Pattinson seems to be doing quite well considering the circumstances following his breakup with Kristen Stewart. For a man who was quite publicly cheated on, Pattinson seemed in good spirits in his interview with Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show," though he did mention that he should really hire a publicist.
As for the Lawrence of Arabia role, which was once inhabited by Peter O'Toole in the David Lean classic, the resemblance isn't too far off, don't you think?
